Bethany Shiraz 2015

Deliciously rich and ripe Barossa shiraz produced from 80-100 year old vines. Fruit is vinified in open fermenters and then matured in French oak for close to a couple of years before bottling. Plenty of fruit generosity here, excellent length and fine tannins to finish.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Bethany's fruit is produced by the fifth and sixth generation Schrapel family grape growers. Johann Schrapel first planted vines in 1852 and viticulture has been part of the Schrapel lineage ever since. 129 years later they built a winery and Bethany wines were born. They resisted the vinepull scheme that followed shortly in the mid 80's, choosing instead to preserve and respect their old vine stocks. The family owns 38 hectares of vines, all in the Barossa Valley.
