The Superb Pinot G Dozen
Pinot G is an extremely versatile varietal. Depending on where it is grown, how ripe it is when picked and how it is fermented, it can be crisp and fragrant or creamy and textural. That said, it should always be recognisable, with its signature pear flavours and perhaps a little green apple.
In order of crisp to creamy this PG bundle brings you...
The Dee Vine Estate Pinot Grigio 2025 picked up a gold, then top gold and then the Trophy for the best PG at the Adelaide Wine Show. Light, clear, mouthwatering and zippy. Plenty of fresh green apple and juicy pears on the go here. Crisp and refreshing, the light body allowing exceptional fruits to shine
The Riposte Pinot Gris is one of our faves here at winedirect.com.au. A super expressive Pinot Gris, packed with fresh nashi pears and florals, a hint and a streak of minerality. Fruit is in the driver's seat, with acid in second place, being closely stalked by texture. The wine will become more textural with time but already looks good.
Finally, we have the Miceli, a bloody awesome, textural, spiced, pear-laden, stonefruity and mineral PG. This is the kind of PG that turns lukewarm supporters into fervent believers. Stylistically reminiscent of the spectacular PGs from Alsace in France, this has a Chardonnay-like weight and texture.

A super expressive Pinot Gris, packed with fresh nashi pears and florals, a hint and a streak of minerality. Fruit is in the driver's stage, with acid in second place, being closely stalked by texture. The wine will become more textural with time but already looks good. Just a few months of lees stirring in 25% new French oak, and juice oxidization prior to ferment give this superb weight and texture. Even better than the excellent 2024 vintage.
Light, clear, mouthwatering and zippy. Plenty of fresh green apple and juicy pears on the go here. Crisp and refreshing, the light body allowing exceptional fruits to shine. This is a wonderfully sating first glass that then demands a second. We bench tested this against PG's at 2 and 3 times the price and it came out comfortably ahead of them. A Gold, Top Gold and Trophy Winner at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show.
A bloody awesome, textural, spiced, pear laden, stonefruity and mineral PG. This is the kind of PG that turns lukewarm supporters into fervent believers. Stylistically reminiscent of the spectacular PGs from Alsace in France, this has a Chardonnay-like weight and texture and is absolutely worth grabbing at least a couple of bottles to try.
