The Very Limited BSP

BSP, you ask? BSP is a TLA (that’s a Three-Letter Acronym) for Best Selling Pack—or at least, we reckon it would be if we had more of a couple of these wines.

Lloyd Brothers’ luscious, trophy-winning Syrah is in very short supply, and Kilikanoon’s flagship Cabernet—the 6-gold-medal-winning, 96-point, $96-a-bottle 2018 Tregea won’t be around for long either.

Maybe we should have called it the Fast Selling Pack? Either way, if this one catches your eye, now’s the time to lock it in.

P.S. The rest of the lineup is just as impressive—two stunning reds from Turkey Flat, Claymore’s Dark Side Shiraz, Martin’s magical McLaren Vale Super Premium, and the Baker’s Bottle: Yaldara Grand Shiraz!

    Wines In This Pack
    Barossa Valley, SA
96pts Sam Kim, 94pts Kim Brebach
The 2021 Yaldara Grand is a straight Shiraz, owing to the concentration and profundity of the Shiraz fruit from this vintage. Unsurprisingly, this offers more power and concentration than any previous vintage. A massive, deep and complex expression of the best bits of the Barossa Valley. Dark chocolate, liquorice, tobacco leaf, blue and black fruits, cedar, cassis, plums, cherries, spice and plenty of cedary oak and tannins. Incredible.
    McLaren Vale, SA
97pts Sam Kim, 96pts Ken Gargett, 96pts Kim Brebach, 96pts Winestate Magazine, Gold - CWSA
The Martins has maintained the exceptionally high standard it set with the 2018 vintage. Fruits are blacks and blues, with blueberries, blackberries, olive tapenade, cedar and vanilla populating a powerful and long palate. The tannins are polished, waxy and plentiful. The overall package, outstanding!!
    Barossa Valley, SA
    92pts Sam Kim
A beautifully soft, savoury and complex red. A medium-bodied palate with red and black fruits. Layers of spice, dark plum and blackberries with plenty of fine tannins and a slightly rustic edge from the very high quality Mataro used here to finish the blend off. A lovely ‘welcome home’ glass which goes very nicely with dinner too.
    Barossa Valley, SA
    91pts Real Review
What a stunning ‘lighter and brighter’ Shiraz from Turkey Flat. A neat counterpoint to their Estate Shiraz, it packs a powerful punch of fruit yet is lighter on its feet than it’s more expensive counterpart. Some whole bunch is used here and the oak used is all older – both factors in allowing the fruit to really shine. Red and blue fruits, white pepper, bright and crunchy goodness. Delicious Barossa joy in a glass.
    Clare Valley, SA
94pts Wine Orbit, 94pts Ken Gargett
Offering mouthfuls of dark plum, juicy blackberries and a touch of dark cherry pie, this is a seductive classic Clare Shiraz. Delve into aromas of spiced plums, dark chocolate, and smooth oak. This powerful yet elegant drop is sure to please with smooth, fine tannins. Given some time in the glass, it will really open up. Grab a bottle, pour a glass (or two!), and warm your bones beside the fire of this Shiraz/Dark Side of the Moon. Enjoy!
    Adelaide Hills, SA
Gold and Top Gold - Royal Adelaide Wine Show, Gold and Trophy - Royal Melbourne Wine Show, 93pts Wine Front
Dense in colour, this mid to full bodied Syrah reveals charm and nuance in its presentation of red and blue fruit aromatics, complexing a fruit intense palate offering mulberries, dark fruit goodness and pepper. Good levels of cedar and plenty of fine tannins too.
    Clare Valley, SA
96pts Ken Gargett, 95pts Ray Jordan, Gold
A varietal and regional expression of Clare Valley Cabernet with piercing clarity of fruit, which is to say, an absolute delight. Violets, blackberries, plum, sage, bay leaf, mint, liquorice, curlicues of French oak and fine, waxy, supple tannins. Off script though, because this is massive - a huge mouthful - and yet expressive, somehow elegant, with a fluidity of movement and visibility of detail which belie the hulking muscularity. Imagine a director firing Nureyev as the male lead in Swan Lake because Chewbacca auditioned better. Then pour another glass.
