ANZ Exclusive Winter Reds Dozen

There are many good reasons to buy some more wine, but none more so than the looming specter of the winter months here in South Australia. And what better a remedy for the cold and stormy nights then a deep and brooding Shiraz: at least in my opinion. But whether you’re hunkered down in front of a fire in Fitzroy, or dodging crocs on the Cairns coastline, we have got you covered. We have big wines like the Uber Premium 97pt Martins Shiraz (RRP $150) and the 95pt Massena Verto Shiraz (RRP $85); supported by superbly softer wines like the Curtis Small Batch Shiraz Grenache and the Z Wine Bonvedro. So no matter where you’re wintering, we have you covered.

    Wines In This Pack
    McLaren Vale, SA
97pts Sam Kim, 96pts Ken Gargett, 96pts Kim Brebach, 96pts Winestate Magazine, Gold - CWSA
The Martins has maintained the exceptionally high standard it set with the 2018 vintage. Fruits are blacks and blues, with blueberries, blackberries, olive tapenade, cedar and vanilla populating a powerful and long palate. The tannins are polished, waxy and plentiful. The overall package, outstanding!
    2 x Massena Verto Shiraz 2017 (RRP $85.00)
    Barossa Valley, SA
95pts Real Review, 95pts James Halliday
A rich and intense Shiraz sourced from old vines in the Barossa and Eden Valleys. Whole berries were fermented and gently basket pressed into a combination of ceramic eggs and old and new French oak. The end result is a full-bodied wine offering plum, five spice, black fruits, coffee, chocolate, and velvety tannins. Stunning!
    McLaren Vale, SA
    96pts Sam Kim
Produced from 120-year-old Grenache bush vines and 80 year old Shiraz vines. The fruit is cold soaked for 14 days before a slow ferment. It is then pressed into new and 2 year old oak where it is allowed to mature 18 months. The resulting wine is deep and complex with black fruits, vanilla, plenty of cedar and spice leading to a long, generous and finely tannic finish.
    Barossa Valley, SA
95pts Kim Brebach, 94pts Sam Kim, 94pts Patrick Eckel, 94pts Ray Jordan, 93pts Ned Goodwin
A magnificently smooth, medium to full bodied, blue and black fruited Barossa Valley Shiraz. This is light on its feet in spite of its fruit intensity, has beautiful polish and finishes with high quality cedary French oak and fine tannins. An exceptional Barossa Valley Shiraz.
    Langhorne Creek, SA
93pts Kim Brebach, 93pts Sam Kim, 92pts Wine Pilot
A beautifully fragrant and mouthwatering nose laden with violets, blackcurrants and dried oregano leads to a voluptuous palate. This is pristine, varietally perfect, medium bodied Cabernet. A joy to drink by itself and with lamb dishes.
    Barossa Valley, SA
    93pts Sam Kim
Bonvedro is an extremely rare varietal. This version offers zesty red fruits, along with an underlying earthiness and herbs. The acid is prominent, the fruit bold but in a medium bodied setting. Delicious.
