Allinda Limited Release Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2016

A taut beast this with a good line of French oak, creamy, nutty characters derived from lees stirring and a lovely line of minerality. No need to overchill this. Open, let it breath and all the good stuff begins to emerge from its folds of velvety comfort. Grilled nuts, stonefruit, a hint of citrus, apple, pear, citrus and more. Fabulous, classy kit.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

Allinda is in the northern end of the Yarra Valley and they are pretty keen on doing the right thing by your gob and the planet. They use no fertilizer or pesticides in the vineyard, choosing instead to use compost teas, fish oil, seaweed extract and humate to keep soils and vines in balance and healthy. Somehow, they have found a synergy in the midst of serving equally the planet and your palate – producing wines which are deceptively intense, taut and ageworthy and yet so perfectly balanced that they seem effortless. Easy to drink on opening, and yet steadily improve with air – these are wines which will clearly cellar beautifully.
