Four delicious, arcane, tannin infused bevvies you can enjoy now without breaking the bank... three of them will cellar and all of them are superb value at $13.33 a bottle. Wits End Shiraz is an aromatic beast with bright red and blue fruits, and lip-smacking acidity. Pertaringa’s Undercover is more intense with deeper fruits - worth a gander now but can be chucked in the dungeon too. Jeanneret’s magical Cab Shiraz is bursting at the seams with black fruits and spice. It’s a ripper now but will improve with cellaring. The Hamilton Shiraz just picked up 97 at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show. It’s a mid-weight wine with great length and seriously precise fruit. It runs over the taste buds a treat already but there’s no need to mow this one down in a hurry. It’ll keep improving over the next 5-8 years.
