Much to love here – and probably too much to cover in just one short paragraph – so here’s a wee note on each of the wines you’ll find in this pack...
Yaldara Reserve Barossa Cabernet 2015
Gold, 95pts Kim Brebach
There’s plenty of everything here, from black fruits, oak, acid and spice which are all knitted together beautifully. Specific flavours of blackcurrant, mint, eucalyptus, clove and plenty of other goodies too.
Through The Tasting Glass Cheshire Cat Barossa Shiraz 2018
96pts Kim Brebach, 94pts Sam Kim
Polished black with exceptional intensity of black and blue fruits, this is stunning now and will just keep getting better over the next 10 years.
Zonte’s Violet Beauregard Malbec 2017
3 x Gold Medals, 95pts Wine Showcase Magazine and more...
Plenty of blueberries, mulberries, cherries and violets on the fly here. Super smooth drinking with excellent length, this also finishes with tight, finely grained tannins.
Thompson Margaret River Cabernet Shiraz 2017
Gold, 92pts Kim Brebach
A complex wine offering dark fruits, dark chocolate, tomato leaf, plum, white pepper and violet. This really is a beautiful wine, delicious now and with a minimum of 5 years cellaring potential.
Richard Hamilton Little Road McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018
2 x Gold Medals, 95pts James Halliday
Black fruits, blue fruits, spice, cola, cedar and fine tannins. Looks quite a lot like its older brother, the Centurion Shiraz, which retails for $80 per bottle.
Murray Street Black Label Barossa Valley SGM 2015
This is a red and blue fruited beauty. Richness from the Shiraz is complexed by strawberries and a hint of redcurrant from the Grenache and a little brooding brambliness from the Mataro. There is a lovely interplay between sweet fruit and savoury characters and fine tannins on the finish.
Betheone Cabernet Merlot 2019
This is a mid-weight blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot... a top tipple to tap into with your midweek munchings. There’s enough depth of fruit to please and tannins to give structure. The fruit here is good – blackberry, plum and a hint of violet. A perfect partner for pulled pork, a cracking accompaniment to chicken croquettas!
