A Bakers Dozen of Shimmering Shiraz v3.0

We lead off with a well cellared gold winner from the excellent 2014 vintage. It is rich, deeply fruited and ready to rock’n’roll. Get stuck into that one over the next year or so. Next up is Hesketh’s Winemaker's Selection, a French oak matured, lip-smacking red with decent intensity of fruit along with chocolate and a little white pepper. Drink over the next 5 years. Levelling up in intensity we have Martins Limited Shiraz, with 97 points from Sam Kim and 95 from Halliday. It’s medium to full bodied and offers exceptional clarity of blue and black fruits... drink any time over the next 10 years. Finally we have a single bottle of a blackstrappy Barossa behemoth from the bonza 2018 vintage. Lone Palm Vineyards Hillside Shiraz is a superbly intense blend from the famed regional Barossa subregions of Greenock, Stonewell and Marananga. A mix of mostly old and some new French and American oak is used here, allowing the oak to appear as a character rather than the plot. Fantastic density of black and blue fruits, spice, chocolate, cedar and firm tannins.
