January in Australia? Brutal heat, backyard barbies firing up, and the only thing colder than your beer is the glass you’re about to pour. Fast-forward to March-April, and the air’s got that crisp edge - perfect for lingering longer at the table without melting.
If you love your whites crisp, aromatic, with full, expressive fruit and the kinda nervy acidity that make 'em a joy to drink with seafood or creamy chicken dishes– this is the dozen to grab.
We've pulled together 4 brilliant Sauv Blancs from top producers across the country – including trophy and gold winners, cool-climate standouts, and cellar door faves.
From the bright tropicals of Norfolk Rise to the passionfruit and greenery of the Jacob's Cellar, there's plenty of style variation here – but every wine is clean, fresh and made for chilling down and drinking now.
Limited packs available – don’t miss this.
These big-point, trophy-winning packs have been flying, so here’s another cracker for your consideration.
Longview Devil’s Elbow Cabernet Sauvignon Trophy winner with multiple gold medals. Superb varietal purity, excellent tannin structure and real presence.
Briar Ridge Malbec Trophy winner and 95 points from Campbell Mattinson. The best Australian Malbec we’ve ever tasted — evocative of high-altitude, big-ticket Argentinian super-premiums.
Dandelion Lioness Shiraz Rich, textural and utterly delicious, just as it always is. Oh and 9 gold medals!.
Briar Ridge Gatherer Shiraz Another trophy, alongside 96 points from Halliday and 95 from Huon Hooke. Think Hunter Shiraz can’t be concentrated, spicy and beguiling? This wine will change your mind.
To finish, two 97-point Barossa Shiraz:
Yaldara Grand Barossa Shiraz Now easing into a very happy drinking window, loaded with dense, concentrated black fruits — and then some.
Neldner Road 'The Silesian' Shiraz An exceptional Barossa Shiraz made by Dave Powell, one of Australia’s truly great winemakers.
We’ve had a few people ask for a mixed pack with genuine variety, landing at $15 a bottle or under — so here it is.
Did we hit the mark? We think so.
Inside you’ll find wines that are all drinking beautifully right now:
Single-vineyard Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon
Turkey Flat Barossa GSM
Cellared Clare Valley Shiraz
Brightly fruited, 95-point Langhorne Creek Shiraz
And just to sweeten the deal, we’ve included a bonus bottle of Yaldara Grand Barossa Shiraz — a 97-point, $250-a-bottle powerhouse.
If you’re opening that one soon, do yourself a favour and give it a decant.
We lead off with a trio of old-vine Barossa Grenache, and it’s a cracking start.
Lone Palm – stunning and complex, sitting comfortably in the medium-to-full-bodied zone with real Barossa presence. Pllana – mid-weight and beautifully fragrant, loaded with red and black fruits. Ollin – tiny production and genuinely special. This one made the Halliday Wine Companion gasp: “Far out. Beautifully composed, pure … a bright mineral cadence. It’s a ripper.”
Next up, Corryton Burge – again from the Barossa but from younger vines - the new venture from Grant Burge’s family – another medium-bodied, complex and classy expression.
From there, it’s on to Kilikanoon’s Clare Valley GSM, which Kim Brebach rated the best GSM blend of the last 12 months. Pure-fruited, supple, spicy and long. Add Curtis’ Heritage Grenache, a mid-weight beauty with delicious spice and vibrant red fruit, and you’re already travelling very well.
To seal the deal? A bonus bottle of Kilikanoon’s flagship Grenache, The Walton. The previous vintage was awarded 97 points and named equal top wine by The Vintage Journal — sharing the honours with Jim Barry’s $500-a-bottle Armagh.

With these few simple tricks, you can age your bottles like a pro and serve them in a way that’ll impress your mates.
For over 15 years we have partnered with The Royal Adelaide Wine Show, arguably the most prestigious wine show in Australia, to curate their official dozens, giving wine lovers Australia-wide the opportunity to sample some of the very best wines Australia has to offer...

The best place to start...
We range a highly curated selection of wines, mostly from small to medium sized wineries. Our philosophy is simple; we only sell wines that we would drink ourselves. We taste every bottle that we sell and will only put forward those which we feel are outstanding to drink or, at least, outstanding value.
And by far the best value way to get wine through us is via our mixed packs. With savings of up to, sometimes in excess of, 75%, these offers are no-brainers and a great way to taste a range of what we have on offer.
Then, if you find a wine you simply can't live without, we highly recommend getting in touch with us for pricing on individual bottles too sensitive to publish online - we call them our mate's rates... c'mon, be our mate!
