1847 Round Table Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Plenty rich and ripe fruit with blackberry and currants given a smack in the chops with a pleasant underlying herby character and just a squeeze of Granny Smith apple juice. This has good length and acid and might just pair perfectly with roast pork with a thyme and apple sauce.

Allow us to prattle on a little more about this...

We've been enjoying a few selections from Chateau Yaldara … aka 1847 Wines over the past few months because they make some lovely wines. The reference to 1847 in the full winery branding (1847/Yaldara Wines) is a tad confusing perhaps, referring to the year the governor granted the land on which the property resides. The estate itself was founded a hundred years later, when Hermann Thumm began making Barossa wines. The word Yaldara comes from a local indigenous word meaning sparkling.
