As always a crackerjack pack. Drink the multiple trophy winning Wyndham shiraz now along with the Jacobs Creek Reserve merlot. Drink now or cellar the superb Tim Adams Reds and the Bullseye. Consider cellaring the Bird in Hand cabernet, it’s a brute!

All chardonnay here, with the Jacobs Creek multiple gold medal winner leading the charge and great for drinking now- Lots of peach and butter characters and a hint of almond meal from malolactic fermentation. The Bird in Hand is classy, restrained Adelaide Hills goodness and the Clare Hills by Pike is fresh and zesty, showing the stamp of quality we have come to expect from Neil.

Savvy blancs and blends here, all designed for current consumption. All aromatic and fruit driven these wines nonetheless offer a slightly different take on the genre and are all very enjoyable.

Shiraz and blends here and only one quaffer in the underrated Nottage Hill. Other names include Penny’s Hill, Hamilton and   the Lane (rrp $25). Not least of the wines is the Wyndham Shiraz which has picked up 3 trophies already.

A fine mixed dozen here from some big names including DeBortoli, Zontes, Hardy’s and Pikes. Designed for current consumption and definitely better than average quaffing.
